TO: Editors, Concerned Citizens of this Republic and beyond
The Valdosta Daily Times editor published a rant on 6 July 06. YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CONDITIONS AT THE JAIL ALL YOU WANT, BUT AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THOSE CRIMINALS HAVE IT TOO GOOD DOWN THERE AS IT IS NOW."
However, after thirteen know deaths in our surrounding the Lowndes County Jail. With three families of deceased inmates represented. Our only daily news paper failed to publish one word concerning the Georgia State Conference President (NAACP), Edward DuBose Press Conference at the Jail on 5 July 06.
Although, a press release was made throughout the state of Georgia and local television stations interviewed many persons in attendance. Our community have become accustomed to omissions of news worthy events such as this in our beloved community.
The person who wrote the rant probably never read U.S. District Court Judge Hugh Lawson Court Order and Consent Decree 89-54-VAL, (Now Expired), see below of the ill conditions in the jail back in 1989, or Leigh Touchton letter on the ill conditions at the jail, or seen a 90 minutes documentary video put together by professors from Valdosta State University of the ill conditions in the jail. Or reviewed justification why a new jail will not cure the many problems that have existed for nearly 20 years in the facility.
The Honorable Judge Hugh Lawson 105 noted discrepancies in his ruling in October 1997 from CA #89-54-VAL. http://2true4u.blogspot.com/2006/04/judge-hugh-lawsonlowndes-county.html2006/04/judge-hugh-lawsonlowndes-county.html
Letter to the ACLU from former (NAACP) President Leigh Touchton. This is her story of the jail. (5 May 2005)
Soon, editors, 48 hours, 60 minutes, Dateline, Prime Time, MSNBC, ABC, the Associated Press, ACLU, Local News Media outlets, organizations, and others will understand.
That God will always have people like John Brown, Rev. Martin L. King Jr., Moses, Rev. Joseph Lowrey, Jesus, King Kufu, and others being born through their mothers womb. Who will continue to cherish, respect, and protect the sacrifices of the founding fathers, and mothers of our great Republic for the GREAT FREEDOMS of the American People.
Yes! they will always want for their neighbors the same thing they want and have for themselves and their own children.
Moreover, they understand fully; that unearned pain, suffering, mistreatment, and disrespect is redemptive. And in the end, God will be GLORIFIED. Then all the remaining people of God, and the real patriots of our nation will say AMEN!
