Joseph McFadden Sr. A local citizen die in hospital

Joseph McFadden Sr.


Joseph McFadden Sr., 79, of Valdosta passed away Saturday, July 8, 2006, at a South Georgia Medical Medical Center.


He was born on Jan. 31, 1927, in Lowndes County to the late Dewey and Flossie Sermon McFadden. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.; served as assistant superintendent of the Sunday School, which he loved so much; was retired and served in the United States Army in the transportation department. 


Mr. McFadden Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Flossie L. Clyburn.


He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Eulene A. McFadden; three daughters, Joe Carolyn Williams of Augusta, Geraldine Orr of Atlanta and Wilhelmenia Morrell of Landover, Md.; three sons Frankie L. McFadden, Miami, Fla., Lamar McFadden, Valdosta, Joseph L. McFadden Jr. of the U.S. Army; 12 grandchildren, Calvin (Charmira) Orr, Jr., Baltimore, Md., Debra (Ennis) Davis, Pensacola, Fla., Jason (Irene) Orr, Iraq, Fransenia (Henry) Woods, San Angelos, Texas, Roger Williams, Valdosta, Walter Williams, Lithonia Springs, Ga., Tara Dunn, Warner Robins, LeVon (Jamillah) Morrell, Atlanta, Daryl (Nuwana) Morrell, Lawrenceville, Sheldon McFadden and Mamie McFadden, both of Miami, Fla.. and Jeffery Caithers, U.S. Navy, Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Alesha, Jason, Jr., Christopher, Daniel, DeJah, Jyah and Jordan; a cousin Lester C. (Essie) Young, Tallahassee, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Vernice Penny, Youngstown, Ohio, Lula Mae (James) Penny, Miami, Fla. and Pernilla Alderman of Hahira; a very special niece, Marlene Clyburn of San Francisco, Calif.; also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hahira. Dr. Norman Edwards, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. — Scott And Roberts Mortuary
